Difficult to find slots, and most probably very expensive airport taxes for easyjet to be able to offer good prices. And being the base for LH, the airport will support them, rather than Easyjet

"Miles away" is a nice way of putting it... ... it's roughly half way to Cologne from here, roughly 125km or 77 miles!

I don't live in Frankfurt that long, but I don't remember any EasyJet presence here - or at least, I'm not at all surprised that if, indeed, there was some presence here, that it didn't last long.

it's all about the airport taxes. FRA charges very high tax surcharges which makes them unprofitable for LCCs. Additional to the taxes which are very high priced the ground handling companies (LH or Fraport are the biggest one) coast a lot of money, too. Compared to other German airports almost the double.
I live in FRA and work at the airport and didn't see any EasyJet planes flying here around so far for.
