I remember they used to fly parts in for Vauxhall, along with Inversija of Latvia, Heavylift and even SU - it was common to see 4 on the ground, this was like 10 years ago i guess (no U2 then and scheduled flights were a FR 111 & JE 360 plus the odd BY / ZB). Now Vauxhall dont make cars there i dont suppose its anything to do with them. Also, as the IL76 is now banned from EU airspace unless for humanitarian flights, i guess it must be for this - although why it didnt go to MSE like they usually do i have no idea. Are Air Foyle still going?? Maybe they chartered it and got dispensation to allow it into the EU.

Air Foyle used to have an IL76 of Khors Air Company (Ukraine) based at LTN during the early 1990's as part of their Oil-Spill Contract (together with a C130).

Volga Dnepr have the first (and maybe only) re-engined IL76 which complies to stage 3 noise restrictions, so it could be this a/c which is allowed to fly in the EU

I had just pulled into Luton Airport Coach stop on my way to Oxford when this bird landed, extremely lucky timing! As she turned off the runway there was a fire truck testing it's hose at the side of taxiway alpha, think it was about to give her a water canon salute but just as she got near it I disappeared over the hill on my way to the M1, literally missed it by second!

Was a very good spot though!

i'm so excited i wish i could wet my pants!
