Has DL Converted All The Song 757's?

I was browsing through all the Delta flights, mainly the ones that used to be operated by Song, and I noticed that I didn't see any 199 seaters. When walking through RIC last night, I saw a Song painted aircraft, but when I got home I checked it out and noticed it was reconfigured. Are there any ex-song planes with the old interior still flying around?

As of a few weeks ago I saw quite a few all-coach 757s in the system.

That was a few weeks ago though. I had heard that most of the reconfiguring would go on during November.

no

Source? What flights are they still used on? I didn't see any.

I saw a list around the end of October that showed ~20-22 planes which had been converted back to F/Y seating.

There was a thread in FlyerTalk that stated that the last of the Song 757s were pulled in for reconfiguration last week. So one should not encounter any all coach 757s from hereon. That's interiors... there are still plenty of Song liveries out there... presumably they will be painted when the needed or when DL changes its livery again, whichever comes first.

But according to those sources, usually quite reliable, the Song birds are all gone.

Left the PTVs, just look for the 757s configured with 26 seats in F ...as far as I know all the SONGs are done. The PTVs are a godsend, let me tell you! just wish we would see them at our station!

Yes, the new leather interior that you already see on other aircraft.

Quoting ATLAaron (Reply 7):

Yes. 24 channels of live television, on-demand movies, a suite of games, and a huge music collection which is awesome. Moving map and trivia game are still there as well. Trivia game is free to coach pax. Delta radio is still there, but I doubt anyone will use that anymore. Everything is free in F.

I got to fly a SONG aircraft once from SNA-ATL (it was subbed in). I had an EXCELLENT flight although the people holding F tickets were not too happy.

Yes, all the Song interiors are done. There are some that haven't been repainted yet. The Panasonic PTV systems were left in place. All the 777 and 767 are being upgraded to this same system. I don't know if the 767 will have PTV in coach or not. I would guess yes.

And one important thing that many (including DL FAs) do not even know exist - the AC power supply (with regular plugs, no need for the special EmPower port) - I don't know if they are in the Y cabin but they are certainly there in the F seats, all the way at the bottom of the center armrest.

On the 763ERs (the refurbished ones with the AVOD PTVs), the outlet is available in BusinessElite, tucked all the way inside on the side of the center armrest console.

Haven't heard anything new, but wasn't there a problem with AVOD on the 767-300s? I had heard there was a weight issue. Anyone know anything new?

Nope. PDX see's ex-Song 757's. When we flew PDX-OAK last Friday night, there was a Song 757 parked at PDX.

I heard they are just saying "screw it" and just forgetting about the PTV's on the 767300ERs all together.

The domestic 767-300s are slated to get them, but at this current time the internationally-flown B763ERs are not. It's a weight issue, I've heard.

Anyone know if any of the 737-800's have the Panasonic system yet? I noticed that the SLC-CLT service announcement mentioned TV, movies, games etc.

Well, I guess you could say that. I mean, a F class ticket does cost more than a Y class ticket does, so yes, it is included in the cost.

I saw two Song 757s on the ramp at LAS on Tuesday night...I drove by them and laughed because I thought they were supposed to be converted already.

They ARE converted. Just not painted yet. Sheesh, how many times can this question come up in one thread?

If you look closely by the power jack there is also a USB port and Ethernet port for future use. I would assume iPod hooks into the PTV and Internet access if someone ever replaces the Boeing Connexxion system.

Just flew JFK-LAS-JFK in converted, but Song-painted planes in F. Very nice flights, excellent crews. When leaving from JFK, I think I saw five Song planes.

By the way, quite bumpy approach and landing at JFK in the evening after a storm. What a windy evening it was.

25 TLHFLA : Does anyone now the timeframe as far as PTVs on the domestic 763s? I flew a 763 from ATL-MCO last month and its interior had seen better days.
26 1337Delta764 : I flew last summer on a domestic 767-300 on SJU-ATL, and it had the refurbished interior with the new fluorescent No Smoking/Fasten Seat Belt/Lavator
27 Dl757md : No, unfortunately the power outlets are not available in coach. These ports are on all seats in F and Y. DL757Md
28 ATLflyer : How many Song-painted planes are there left? And when will they be painted? I hope soon...it looks tacky!!!
29 Evan767 : Can someone also tell us what the timeframe for PTV's are on the 738 as well as the 763? Also, how many 763ERs have been converted to the leather seat
30 DeltaGator : Was it the old 3 tube projectors or like the 763ERs I've flown back and forth to Manchester the last few weeks just the old casing with a single tube
