Major delays across the board at YVR due to snow storm. Just to give you an example BA 84 YVR-LHR just completed its deicing process and is now exactly 1:12 am Monday morning. Now they are reporting that they can’t start the engines yet since the deicing crew is to close to the aircraft and tow seems unable to push them out. Ground is granted permission to BA to start one engine . . . A night mare indeed. Snow still falling heavily . BA scheduled departure was Sunday 20:30 pm. and we are looking at about 5 hours delay so far with the aircraft still on or around deicing pad. It is now 1:30 am.

a diversion to PAE or BFI would be much more fun.

Seattle and Vancouver were nightmares for AS tonight. Our flight 616 YVR-LAX pushed at 730p and was airborne at 1030p. Seattle will be getting arrivals till 430am. Example, AS 365 BUR-SEA scheduled at 555p departed BUR at 130am. SJC still has not recieved its last SEA turn and its 210am. Rough night!

ASLAX

Virtually all AC Jazz flights were cancelled out of YVR yesterday, I suppose to give the big a/c space in the de-icing pad. AC8280 almost made it out YVR-YPR almost made it out but after 3 hours waiting at de-icing had to return to the gate.

Listening to ground control, it seems there are some aircraft stuck at the gate, others getting stuck on the taxiway at the north side and the controllers dont have much idea what to suggest or what is going to happen - not much flying happening for sure compared to usual - those pesky Navajo's seem to be going ok though...

Hopefully this will mean the average joe public not as committed as a.nutters wont be out at 7am in the freezing snow to see the A380...
