Any Indian Carrier To Iran?

Did AI ever operate to Tehran, will they or Indian launch servcie there in the future? currently Iran Air do Tehran-Mumbai and Mahan Air doTehran-Delhi and Bandar Abbas-Delhi, Bandar Abbas-Kochi.

AI used to operate a regular service to Tehran during the 1970's with the B707's.....don't recall when exactly this service was discontinued.....maybe around 1980 or so.....

There are no current flights by any Indian carrier into Iran. The services by Iran Air and Mahan, as mentioned, are the only air links between these two very large countries. It is a shame really.
