Hi,
Just read in a Mexican aviation forum that a 737 from Azteca Airlines was confiscate in Ontario Airport, according to the Mexican forum the airline has a debt of 24 million dollars. Can anyone confirm this?
Here is the link to the forum (in spanish)http://fsmex.com/foros/viewtopic.php?t=13042
Cheers.

Confiscated? Do you mean repossessed? With a $24 million debt, it doesn't surprise me. It sounds like the beginning of the end of Azteca. It sad to observe that.

Very unfortunately, this is true. XA-AEQ has been repossessed today at ONT. Out from the 9 planes in fleet, 3 are on ground due to mx issues and they had 6 active now just 5 and one more that needs to enter mx next January 2007. Cancellation of flights are to follow with this plane less in fleet, ironically, loads are really high these days, they have very good sales and loads. But something is wrong, its staff its also leaving to other airlines. If it isn't money laundry and a legal company, they will probably go bite the dust very soon as they have a 75M usd debt in assets and liabilities. Its like a little RG.

Almost their entire MTY staff -Ops, gate agents, sales agents- are now enroled with Viva.

Let´s see tomorrow with the looong weekend how they do.

That's ghetto! It's too bad, I've been on this airline and they have great service.

So what happened to the pax on the outbound flight? Does ZE accomodate them on a different airline?

What's going to happen to this plane?

Sounds like another 73G going to WN.
