US Airways Envoy Class Upgrade Anytime Soon?

Just flew back from PHL to LGW on Sunday night and I have to say their Envoy class was the worst business class I ever experienced. The A330 cabin was dirty and seats uncomfortable. Having said that the crew were pleasant but meals just ok. Do Us Airways plan on re furbishing their seats and cabins?? I have to say that I will not fly them again until they do. It was more like Premium Economy than Business class.

No...they are going to let Delta do all the dirty work and then ATTEMPT (unsuccessfully) to take the credit.

Over-moderation sucks

Do you think this Delta/US thing will go ahead??? I would say Delta were far superior from my experience on both carriers.

I had the same experience with old/dirty seats etc. in Envoy, and it's totally unacceptable IMO.

I'm flying again in 3 weeks CLT-LGW, and if the conditions haven't improved, I won't be using them again. There are plenty of other choices for me, and they will have lost a customer because of it .... and if I choose another airline and start getting FF status, they'll lose my business on 4 domestics flights every week also.

Its an LCC and have pride in them. Rag Tag US East jets working so hard to get pax where they need to go.

Wait till US West can eventually improve the US East equipment sooner.

Precisely why so many Delta people are up in arms over this US hostile bid. Delta has been engineering quite a significant and positive turnaround in its product offering in the last 12 months and now US wants to step in and live off the fruits of the DL's sacrifices/labor/work....

LCC doesn't and shouldn't mean crappy/dirty/old aircraft.

Ever flown Jetblue?  Wink

Our A330's are quite nice...actually very nice. Perhaps it was a quick turn around and they didn't have time to clean it sufficiently. The 767's aren't as nice, but are getting overhauled this coming spring.

As for the food...well...it's a matter of opinion. Not everybody likes the same thing.  Wink I've flown First and Business class on a few different carriers and honestly I didn' think the food was great...it's airplane food! YUCK

It is US Airways, the airline eveyone loves to hate.

I think the 330s are nice birds as well, and generally US Airways as an airline isn't much different from other american carriers I have flown.

P.S. want to see an old dirty uncomfortable airplane, try AA 757s. I I fly AA very often BTW.

I think the A330's are nice A/C just not US Airways. The seats were dirty and the guy in front complained because his seat was bust. Also the wear and tear marks on the walls really looked bad. This was not normal wear and tear either. The carpet had loads of stains on it and to be honest I was shocked. It was horrible to see such lack of up keep on an international Business class product. I have flown all major airlines in both classes and this was by far the worst. The one thing I will say is that the IFE was top of the range and the crew were very nice. Just think if they got their act together on the cabin interior and food , what a great airline they could be!!!

I eat anything by the way and normally like my airline meals in Business class so Im not fussy but this was like chewing rubber. Im not anti US Airways im just shocked.

I thought the A330 were the best thing US Airways having going for them, if they could get their domestic aircraft upto the same spec they'ed be a cracking good airline.

I really have to say I was so looking forward to trying a Star Carrier that I hadnt been on before and went onboard with neutrality so Im not bashing US , I was just shocked. Having said that my MIA to PHL in F class was very good and seats comfortable and crew nice. Only thing I didnt like was lack of catering as it was F and only pretzels and cookies.

Boy, talk about a biased post. Instead of being neutral and saying 'yeah, the service and cabin do need some work', you turn the other way and choose not to see the rality of the situation.

I bet if Doug Parker told you to jump from the golden gate bridge you might actually consider it.

'Some' of the A330's might be nice, even 'very nice', but obviously not the one's we flew on!

Its amazing how when a smaller carrier wants to take over a larger carrier everyone seems to want to bad mouth the smaller one. Delta is an old legacy dinosaur with horrible losses. If HP/US with their business model are able to take over DL, then so be it. We live in a capitalist society, it is the nature of the beast. Now watch for the overzealous DL employees to purposely sabotage the merger (if it happens) just like the old National employees did to Pan Am years ago when they were taken over.

If the merger happens, DL employees need to accept it and work together with the HP/US group to create a successful airline. It would be for the benefit of all employee groups.

I have to say that as a European and therefore totally non biased about any US airline I really like UA. I fly them 4 times a year LHR to IAD or LHR to ORD and I have never been on a bad flight and find their Business class product brilliant and their A/C well maintained inside. I flew HP a few years ago in First and also thought they were a great little airline. So i dont think people always bad mouth the little boys. If the product was good on US then there wouldnt be a problem. I should have taken photos to prove my points but to be honest I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep. Even the pics on here in the photo engine didnt look like what I was sitting in !!!! Maybe they were taken a while ago.

Are they getting new Envoy for 2007 in the 767/757s? or not?

Are they going to hit BRU next summer with an all-coach 757? Wouldn't that be a bit odd?

I heard that from next year DUB is getting a two class 757 service. So I wonder what the seats will be like and if they will be upgraded for Envoy cabin.
