Hi
Has anyone been on/seen pictures of Etihad's 2 class A330-200s? Are all newly delivered A330-200s (Trent) in 2 class layout or are some in 3 class layout? (Or are the only 3 class aircraft remaining the GE powered ones?)
Website seatmaps are a bit confusing as they draw all seats as a square. I was wandering of the 2 class "Pearl Zone" is the same as on the 777-300ER because they are both quoted as having 88" seat pitch.
Can anyone clarify this confusion of onboard products?

The new 2 class A332s have the same seats as the B77W and a similar layout in both Pearl and Coral Zones.
The first new 3 class A332 has arrived and is already in service. The last 2 class A332 arrives in Dec 2006 then all the new A332s in 2007 will be 3 class.
The 2 remaining Volare aircraft should leave next year but its dependant upon capacity requirements. I believe they have extended the A343 lease so completely revamped the cabin; yet another configuration

Not true exactly - they have basically reupholstered all the seats in standard EY fabric, replacing the SQ blue/purple fabric. Seats/config are the same.

Many of my colleagues have flown on it and commented on the poor condition of the cabin, maybe it looks a bit better now. If I had known I would have given it a try this Friday, but now I've chosen QR... well maybe some other time.
Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been...
Well the new EY A330, as well as the old ex-Volare A330's have a 2-class-config.! The old Volare birds are really shabby! No IFE, old & poor Biz-Class etc.! But those are only flying ethnic-traffic on shorter routes, like Colombo & Dhaka. BUT it can happen, e.g. on special occaisons, that they will be used on BKK routes as well...
On the other hand, the old Volare birds have some features I really miss on the new EY A330's!

Quoting Debonair (Reply 6): and how is the bird? With new Diamond and Pearl Zones like the new A340-500? Or different again? Which routes?
Diamond and Pearl seats are the same as on the A345. The 3 class A332 operated the early morning LHR flight today whilst the later flight remains the A345.

Thought they updated the IFE as well. Having seen those horrible SQ blue seats in the Academy that had led me to think they had removed them. We must have a warehouse full of them somewhere then!!
