LONDON (AFX) - US planemaker Boeing Co said it has won a 153 mln usd order for a 787 Dreamliner from Swiss business aviation group PrivatAir.
The two companies said the order would make Geneva-based PrivatAir the first commercial business aviation specialist to buy the 787.
PrivatAir will add the jet to its six-strong Boeing fleet, which comprises
a newly acquired 767, one 757, three Boeing Business Jets (BBJs) and one BBJ2.
The Swiss airline said it is evaluating the two engine options, General Electric Co''s GEnx and Rolls-Royce Group PLC''s Trent 1000.

I would assume this would show as a 787 under the BBJ "airline" on Boeings Orders and Delivery page. Good to see the 787 spreading it wings into the commercial business aviation market.  Wink

Well, Primaris had exactly this purpose in mind with their order. Wouldn't it be funny if PrivatAir wound up with a Primaris slot?

Someone probably secured Primaris' slot for the -8 already I guess.

Wow, I wonder what kind of premium service they cold offer on the 787? Probably 75-100 seats of the type that SQ is now introducing on their 77W First Class seats or perhaps something more revolutionary and expensive?

I cold see them trying to charge $10,000 or more for a Transatlantic flight for one ofthose babies!!

BTW, these was a BBJ order. I would think the one that was posted on August 15.

Well LH Technik recently presented a cabin for a BBJ based on the 787.
It is very likely that LH Technik will be responisble for building the cabin of this aircraft.

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

#1... That is list price, with interior and paint... green aircraft are much cheaper as they have no interior either.
#2... Even a 788 is a large aircraft. Can only imagine a BBJ 788. Wow...

We don't... and they might have. They have 737-700, -800, 757, 767, and now 787-9. Why not add a 747 and 777 to the mix?  Wink

Why is the Dreamliner PrivatAir livery in blue instead of the usual red?

25 Gary2880 : is it me or does that look like a curved cinema next to the cockpit? 2 stacked decks of leather couches looking towards a screen? then some showers,
26 A342 : Since when is LH the overseer of PrivatAir ???
27 N328KF : LH is both a major client and vendor (through Technik), right? So...
28 Congaboy : Talked to an LH manager yesterday at EWR, where PrivateAir provides the equipment for DUS and MUC (A318 and BBJ). They expect to upgrade the aircraft
29 DEVILFISH : I was not aware PrivatAir had the A318 in its fleet.
30 Congaboy : Yea, they do ORD DUS with another Airbus as well.
31 Post contains links DEVILFISH : PrivatAir's Fleet List does not show an A318..... http://www.privatair.com/private_charter/fleet.html
32 Congaboy : Sorry, these are the A319LR's...
33 A342 : PrivatAir is fully independent. Look, they also fly for KL, and the executive interiors of their aircraft aren't exclusively done by LHT, SR Technics
34 Post contains links UA777222 : For the Record. I called this order wayyyy back when............ RE: Boeing Business Jets Launches Widebody VIP Airplan (by UA777222 Oct 18 2006 in Ci
35 Zvezda : Yes, that's exactly what it looks like. It could be used either for entertainment or business presentations.
