From what I have read, AA is not currently focusing on adding any more European and South American destinations from JFK - they have not been very successful on the JFK-Europe flights and have dropped several destinations, most recently the JFK-FRA service. I am sure that they would like to add flights to South America but they are limited by the bi-lateral agreements and route awards - most of South America is not open skies. Miami is likely to see more and more flights to Caribbean/South American cities, as route authorities become available. The Miami to Europe routes have also not been a major success story, but maybe with its new SR/SN partners, AA will begin rebuilding its Miami to Europe services. SR is pushing is ZRH-MIA flights and SN is due to begin service BRU-MIA in the near-term future.
