Minor news reported from Japan on 07DEC....

Star Alliance's annual meeting will be held in Istanbul on 09DEC06.

The agenda includes the imminent announcement of Turkish Airlines' membership once the agreement is signed.

Just to clarify, this would be an announcement of Observer membership status, right? Full membership is probably about a year away, right?

Pretty much like Shanghai Airlines and Air China...But Shanghai Airlines already became observer status since 2004.
