Go to www.newairplane.com, then click on the 747-8i link. It's very impressive! There's a computer animated video of the new LH 747-8i in flight. Very cool.

That Video looks awesome. From the looks of it, it looks like they designed that in Microsoft Flight Sim X.

The site mentions four VIP 748is, so a new order must have been clinched.

They were put on the orders in ones and twos over the last few months. They're not "new."

I knew about the first three. When exactly was the last one placed?

From Boeing's orders site:
  • May 30, 2006 — 1×747-8I
  • September 29, 2006 — 2×747-8I
  • November 6, 2006 — 1×747-8I

Maybe the USA will see a 787-800 Air Force 1.

I doubt it. I could see the next Air Force One being either a 747-8I, a 777-300ER, or perhaps a Y3 if the timing is right (the current VC-25s have lots of life left in them.)

I could, however, see USAF buying 787s for secondary transport roles...perhaps to fill the same purpose that the C-32s have now.
