Quoting Planesarecool (Reply 1): Air India currently fly it 17x weekly, 9 of which make a stop en-route (Delhi, Ahmedabad).
Sorry, off topic, but why does Air India fly so many one stop flights between BOM and LHR? Can they not support enough BOM-LHR and DEL-LHR non-stops? I understand BOM is their hub, but is this the main reason? Maybe ticket prices are cheaper for passengers to choose AI on a BOM-DEL-LHR flight as opposed to a non-stop AI or BA flight...
And I think BD as flies BOM-LHR.

Ahmedabad would be a combined flight because there are no long haul aircraft based there, so to operate a flight originating there, they would have to ferry in an aircraft from BOM anyway.
Delhi is combined into the flights originating at JFK or ORD, so it enables passengers from the US to get to either Delhi or Mumbai on one aircraft, or vice versa.

Currently suspended due to on-going maintenance on the A330 which operates the route.
