JetBlue Unveils New Live Flight Tracking

The IT guys at jetblue just put up a really cool new live flight tracking program, using google maps.

Click "View Map" under DEPARTED.

There's a little arrow at the bottom that if you click it, the altitude (as well as the departure time and arrival) is shown.

I don't think Flightaware's or Flytecomm's folks are likely going to lose any sleep over this mediocre feature.

Kinda tells you where its going from and too, and i dont know ANY airline flight trackers like this that show waypoints. Stop complaining. A airline has come up with a interesting gimmick, and its cool

Actually you can also use the map too, as well as the hybrid.

Altitude is shown. And there are many distinctions - all types of towns and cities clearly labeled.

Generic?? Then how come I can tell you that as of approximately 7:30pm EST that Flight 1085 is over a river just south of NC Route 136 (Mooresville Rd), Near Davidson, NC. If you Zoom in you can see alot of detail. If I knew the area I could tell you an actual town.

I don't really care what kind of fru-fru stuff B6 puts on their site until they decide that flight schedules might be a nice thing to provide! I have sent messages to them and I still find it hard to believe that an airline doesn't think customers want to know future flight information...

(Just today I have FINALLY discovered a route to the B6 Online, as well as the downloadable, flight schedules but it couldn't possibly be more convoluted or time-consuming. A very strange situation from an airline that I like very much...)

You can use the satellite on Delta's too, as well as the hybrid. The map is just default. Same thing. Delta did it first.

Flightaware shows all the waypoints in a box to the right of the map.

And don't tell me to "stop complaining". You think it's cool? Great. I don't. I like the information that is provided on a site like flightaware. Apparently, you don't need it. Opinions are like... You're entitled to yours. Don't you dare tell me that I'm not entitled to mine.

JetBluefan1, its not that hard to find. Just go to www.delta.com, on the left hand side near the bottom of the page, you will see 'Flight Status', enter in your city pair or flight number, hit 'Go' then under 'Status', click on the 'Inflight'.

I was jut seaching to see if any airborne a/c were holding and how that will show on the map. I guess that I'll just have to wait for some bad weather to track that.

it is a cool feature, but I think 80%-90% of the people that use it aren't going to really care about the flight plan...

Hmm... you must not be looking too hard. Simply go to www.delta.com and type in your flight number in the Flight Status box which is on the homepage. Not that hard if you ask me!
