Just an update on the repainting of HP's fleet, on Saturday N908AW arrived back in Phoenix sans the Arizona Cardinals colors, perhaps thats why they won Sunday (just kidding). Appears the special schemes are biting the dust one by one..

Thank God! Another of the America West "Ugly Aircraft Series" goes into standard livery!
IMHO, the old "Teamwork" was the worst one, followed by the horrid State of Nevada livery. The only halfway decent one was the State of Arizona one - the original of which was referred to as "the ramper stamper" because rampers always seemed to get injured while working around it.

Well I liked the first Team Work one, but not the second one. Didn't like the base color on the second version.
I also liked the Ohio one from HP and I thought the Diamondbacks and Suns were cool as well.
I was talking to someone recently and they told me that WN is already getting tired of the Canyon Blue scheme. I bet it fades quite rapidly, similar to the old FedEx purple. I wonder if WN will paint the entire fleet Canyon Blue or come up with another scheme ??? I'm just not crazy of the Canyon Blue at all.

Quoting QXatFAT (Reply 11): What routes do these special painting 757s fly?
There's still a lot of shuffling around when it comes to where our 757s fly. Currently we have then going PHX-ORD-PHX-SMF, PHX-LAS-ORD-PHX, LAS-DFW-LAS-SFO, SMF-PHX-DFW-LAS-SFO, PHX-SNA-PHX, PHX-LAX-PHX, and PHX-DCA-PHX. Of course, there's also the Hawaii routes: LAS-OGG, PHX-OGG, PHX-HNL, PHX-KOA, and PHX-LIH. I don't think we've got all 12 ETOPS certified yet, as I believe 913, 914, and 915 are not ETOPS certified, and they don't go to Hawaii (915 is the NV state plane). Now that may not be a perfect list, and I may be off on a few routings and might have left a few legs off but I believe that's the bulk of the 757 routings.

As a long time resident of Nevada, I strongly beg to differ. Nothing warms my heart like seeing "Battle Born" roll into town.
Quoting AirframeAS (Reply 9): The day 915AW gets repainted from Nevada to the normal livery will be a sad day, I really like that livery alot!
See, I'm not the only one who believes this way.
Quoting TVNWZ (Reply 7): Can't wait for the US Falcons theme plane!
Dream on, the Falcons have a better chance of winning the Super Bowl this year than this merger, er, take over, taking place.
Quoting Drerx7 (Reply 5): I'm gonna miss this one--I flew her last summer on PHX-IAH--the gear was really put to work on that landing on 26L.
Funny you say that because 908 was the plane that suffered severe gear damage after an accident inside the PHX hangar.

Dude, don't even try to hijack this thread with that comment. Start another thread if you want to talk WN liveries on a HP livery thread.

Quoting Silver1SWA (Reply 17): Not to worry...that livery will live on long after 915AW gets repainted.
Battle Born is not nearly as majestic on your punyassed 737s as they do on our royal 757s. Battle Born exists on a plane in only one form as far as I'm concerned. Just go paint some more fish on your planes and be happy and quit disrespecting Battle Born.
