Hi

With SAA expanding in Europe, North & South America and Africa, it seems they are aggressively pursuing looming opportunities.

Does anyone know what the chances are for direct flights to PEK or another?

China is one of SA's biggest importers, so it just makes sense.

Thanks

SAABaby

My guess is that with the emphasis by PRC on Africa, there will be direct flights sooner rather than later. But I have no idea if this is on SAA's radar or will end up as Air China or EK via the Gulf.

SAA flies almost daily to GRU, here in Brazil, its six weekly-flights. Brazil will have a flight from China, via MAD, Air China will use the 747-409s for their flights, and Brazil is one the bigggest importers of China, like South Africa, but with their existing route to Hong knog, from Jonnesburg, the rumors are real, the deal with Shangai Airlines as said above.

Thanks,

Werner from GRU

747-409 belongs to Taiwan-based China Airlines.

Air China is flying PEK-MAD-GRU with 767-200.

Air China will start the operations, not commenced yet.

Correcting....the aircraft can be the 767-200 or the 767-300, used by Air China.

you're right Jimyvr, the 747-409s belongs to China Airlines of Taiwan.
