I was speaking with somebody and I told me that EK gonna come at YUL in a few weeks. Do you know if its true? I know that they came 2 time in 2005. One time for a demonstration flight and the other because there was diverted in YUL due to bad weather at JFK.

EK will fly for GRU, next year four quarter of 2007, they are expanding....i saw that noticed, new flights for YUL and GRU, for GRU will be flights with A345 from DXB. In YUL you can see many diverted flights in bad weather, especially in winter or Christmas due to a lot of aircraft at JFK.

Quoting Planetime (Reply 5): Canada is not really on EK's radar due to the fact that UAE and Canada have a air billateral agreement that EK does not agree with.
Canada is VERY much on EK's radar... but it was their own arrogance in insisting for daily or nothing which has led to them being shut out of the market. However, I suspect that the Canada-UAE bilateral will indeed be revised as part of the new Canadian "Blue Skies" policy to allow EK access.
Meanwhile, EY has swooped in and is establishing themselves quite nicely in the YYZ market.

...Until bilaterals are renegotiated....Flights from the UAE can come to Canada only 6x/week.....of which EY flies to YYZ 3x/week.....
EK had the opportunity, but didn't take it, so now they will have to renegotiate, and I'm not so sure if AC wants that done (IIRC, the Canadian govt. stated that its AC's call-but I might be incorrect on this part)......
