A month or so ago there was a thread stating that Cubana was going to bring their IL-96 to YYZ, starting on Dec. 17th. I can't remember whether this was to be every day they fly here, or just on Sundays. Anyway, their timetable shows the Dec. 17th flight is an A320. There is no flight listed for Dec. 24, but the IL-96 is shown for Dec. 31.
Does anyone know the actual starting date for the IL-96? The flight numbers are 180 and 181. Any info would be appreciated.

John,

It was to be on Sunday's only for the CU IL-96, starting from Dec. 17th.
Hopefully it hasn't changed.

Cheers,
Kaz

When you talk about the Cubana timetable, which timetable site are you looking at?

This is kind of an out of the way question, but does Cubana have rights to fly in US airspace and do US arilines have the rights to fly in Cuban airspace?

Why fly with 2 engines when you can have 3?

I believe CU can theoretically fly over US airspace but they're heavily restricted when it comes to landing on an US airport for a diversion.

I checked the schedule again, Kaz and it shows Dec 24 for the first IL-96 trip.
