According to the Sunday Times, BA are in talks with Air France and Delta with a view to joining SKYTEAM. Only last week BA admitted that the break-up of Oneworld would be impossible and said that AA and themselves were fully committed to the alliance. According to teh paper,If the suspected alliance was to go ahead it is evident that BA would try to entice members such as Cathay and Quantas. Delta has been for a long time suspected to be interested in merging with Continental, and if that were to go ahead, their combined forces would provide access to more US gateways that any other alliance.
