With all this talk about possible new airline mergers, I can't help but think back to the 1980's when mergers were all the rave.

Are we heading into another period like that?

But more importantly, what memories do you have about the mergers back then. Was service chaotic? Were crew members taking out their frusteration on you etc.?

Lets take a moment to look back:

Air Wisconsin/Mississippi Valley (Summer 1985)

People Express/Frontier (Summer 1985)

TWA/Ozark (Fall 1986)

Northwest Orient/Republic (Fall 1986)

Delta/Western (Spring 1987)

Continental/People Express (Spring 1987)

American/Air Cal (Summer 1987)

US Air/PSA (Spring 1988)

US Air/Piedmont (Fall 1989)

Continental/Britt (????)

TWA 1985
