Hey everyone.
I'm sitting here at the AE gates at JFK T9, looks like Fog is causing problems again as they have just cancelled A LOT of flights. I'm sitting here waiting on my flight to YHZ
Just thought I'd pass it on to anyone that was heading this direction.

Fog is bad all over the states today it seems.
It was horrible this morning in ATL and MSY.
Check out my new trip report that I just posted and you'll see a 717 landing video in conditions that barely met the landing minimums. It was something.

Same in ZRH this evening. Runway 14 RVR was 250m at one point.
On a sidenote: Does anybody know a website with accurate JFK flight information? I found a few but they are all pretty crappy. I use flightaware.com, but it's not very handy.

Quoting Challiday (Reply 2): just my luck eh, flying home from LHR and I get so close (yet so far away) haha
FWIW, EWR isn't forecast anywhere near that bad. ACY and BWI are also foggy, so there's stuff along the coast, and it makes me wonder if EWR will indeed hold up.
Getting out of JFK only takes RVR 600, and getting in could take anywhere from RVR 700 to RVR 1800 (CAT-IIIa to CAT-I), and maybe less (RVR 600) if the airline involved can use CAT-IIIb, so if your airline can get in, they can most likely get out.
flight AA 4773 has been delayed until 8pm. So a three hour delay because or aircraft is currently at another airport, waiting to get cleared to come to JFK - fingers crossed it can do that.

KL's two JFK flights came in late, 642 almost 3 hours, 644 30 minutes. I was wondering why but now I know.
The Flight Information said it was because of a late incoming a/c but I got KL641 out yesterday with only a small delay so that couldn't be it. As usual, a.net has the answer

Oh man, this is terrible. On Friday, Dec. 1, MX0004 had to go around in circles for almost an hour before landing... just when the plane (an A-319) was about to be diverted to PHL, the airport reopened and the plane could land safely. Needless to say, immigration was a mess because some big ones coming from Europe were arriving at the time too. I am glad I ended up flying to JFK the night before. Seems this is a very common problem this time of the year.

Right get this, just to top off my story.
First of all I'm still in NY - thanks to American Eagle. Our flight on thursday was cancelled. Myself and 8 others were placed on the YHZ bound flight from LGA for today at 12:20.
However, things did not go to plan. After being delayed until almost 3pm Myself and four others (1 who was also from the cancelled thursday night flight) were bumpped off the AE flight from LGA due to weight problems. The Aircraft was too heavy. Now the excuse was that we got picked because we were the last "check in". This was bollox, as we checked in almost 3 hours before the flight and the 8 of us from the flight before check in together and out of the 8 I was the first check in.
So I'm now spending my second night in a hotel, tonight however AE/AA are paying for it.
My worry is now, the last flight out tonight to YHZ from JFK was cancelled so tomorrow morning I'm going to be dealing with anyone left over from that flight trying to go that direction plus any other problems AE/AA put my way.

Driving up the East Coast last night (Thursday) I was in constant fog from just north of DC until about twenty minutes south of EWR. Quite a night.
