After reading about the new domestic flights AA is launching in some of the other threads here, I decided to see how EWR was faring for the upcoming Spring 2007 schedule change.
Looks like they're cutting out 1 of the 3 MIA flights.
Currently, MIA-EWR gets 3 flights:
#1970 Dp MIA 8:15a Ar EWR 11:10a
#2110 Dp MIA 2:10p Ar EWR 5:10p (this is a joke - the flight is usually 2 hours delayed due to groundstop at EWR)
#1050 Dp MIA 6:35p Ar EWR 9:35p
It's pretty easy to see from the return EWR-MIA schedules that each of these planes heads up to EWR, then turns around and goes back to MIA.
Now, however, with the April 2007 schedule, it's a bit of a mystery to me how they're going to do this with just 2 inbound flights from MIA to EWR. According to AA.com, here's the new schedule:
#1970 Dp MIA 7:00a Ar EWR 9:55a, which turns around and heads back to MIA as #1623 Dp EWR 10:45a Ar MIA 1:35p
#1050 Dp MIA 8:00p Ar EWR 10:55p
Problem is, they are still operating flight #1999 Dp EWR 6:25p Ar MIA 9:30p (this too, like #2110 inbound from MIA is chronically late, usually 1+ hours).
Anyway, with the new schedule, where do they get the 757 to operate #1999 from?
I scanned the usual suspects into EWR: LAX, SJU and even DFW and ORD but those 757s are all spoken for.

Thank god! I hate to see cutbacks from AA at EWR.
