I was looking at the schedule for Delta flight to Central America, specifically PTY, and I saw that the are now using the 763, which is great, I was looking at fliying to PTY in february and the 763 is still scheduled, is this change permanent? or will they go back to the 757 after the holiday rush? it is scheduled all the way up to march as a 763.
what other routes got upgraded?
Good to see DL expanding in Latin America, I read in a Panamanian paper they were planning on introducing a second daily ATL-PTY.

The flight is supposed to go back to a 757 in early April.
Not that unusual, DL upgrades equipment to LatAm on a regular basis, albeit with changing destinations, e.g. GUA got a daily 763 for one month this year, either August or September, IIRC. Still, I'm a bit surprised they upgraded PTY to a 763, given that that flight has been operated by a 738 for years, with an occasional 757 here and there. I suspect this upgrade is probably more due to cargo demand than due to pax demand.

I was looking and there are only like 10 seats left on some flight, on the one I wanted there were only 3 left. PTY usually has very very good loads.
Im surprised it is staying as a 763 all the way up to april. And after that it looks like it is permanently a 757.
