Does anyone know what is happening with that TNT 737 that made a hard landing at BHX a while back?

I fly in and out of there regularly, and it seems to have been just left at the end of the 2nd runway (albeit with the TNT markings painted out) supported on a low-loader.

Any ideas what might be done with it? I can't imagine it can be left sitting there indefinitely.

It has been here over 6 months (at a current parking charge of about GBP15000.00) and has apparantly been sold for parts. From what I can gather the damage means there is no way she will ever fly again (as an airframe anyway).

I do not know if they will dismantle here at BHX or remove to elsewhere.

That's almost as good a rate as the NCP Multi-storey  Wink

Would be interesting to see that being removed elsewhere for dismantling! Maybe the reason its been left is because it would cost more to move it than to leave it?

It makes sense to sell it for parts, although I still wonder why its taking so long. I would have thought there would be a reasonable market for B737 parts and even if there isn't, TNT could surely use it for spares?

It was on BBC Midlands Today a week ago. It is parked at BHX in all White.

If you want to see a pic of it in all white, type in OO-TND into the search on the 'Other Site'
