It was originally in the schedules as a CRJ-200 I believe. Perhaps this means there is sufficient demand from DAB to LGA, and that they'll try a longer trial run next time?

Looks like the LGA-DAB run returns for Saturdays in the spring (Feb 17th) and DL goes back to all mainline to ATL with 6 flights on the Mad Dogs. Checking Feb 19th after the race DL has 9 yes count em 9 MD-88's scheduled in and out.

Also SRQ-LGA returns Feb17th operating Sat and Sun on the 170.

MLB also gets the Sat LGA run starting on the 17th

Delta is going all mainline in response to AirTran's entrance to DAB. I was hoping that they would bring back something other than just the MD-88s though - the daily 738 to ATL we had for a while was a nice change. It will be interesting to see if Delta announces any new destinations from DAB, but that may be wishful thinking.

I was hoping JFK or DCA like we have from MLB. Maybe DL could do a ATL-DAB-MLB-ATL run. I think they did that in the 90's.

Not gonna happen. Except on a few international runs (JFK-BCN-MAD-JFK, ATL-SNN-DUB-ATL/ATL-DUB-SNN-ATL during winter, and ATL-UIO-GYE-ATL yearround), Delta doesn't operate triangle flights anymore.
