This positioning flight for either the Miami Dolphins or for a BCS bowl team. Flight numbers 9901-9999 are sports charters., maintenence related flights are 9801-9899 and DOD charters are 9701-9799

Or maybe the Miami Heat? They're playing in Milwaukee tonight at 8pm. The Dolphins aren't going anywhere this week.

That would have been the return of the DC-10 that took Arizona State to Hawaii,

Since the Dolphins are home this week, thats not it, maybe it will be a charter for the University of Miami to Boise. When the NW DC-10 arrived in PHX to take the Sun Devils to HNL, it came in a day early.

Not so . A/C positioned for a charter have nothing to do with maintenance.

Well, abck in the days that I did charters, NFL/NBA were all 9900 flights and the AMC charters that i've done the last several years we all 9700. So you're right, i'm wrong, let's move on.

I'm not sure of it anymore, but we also used to have the Philadelphia Eagles for years. I guess US got them nowadays since they have a Eagle-painted A319/320.

No, Delta is handling the Eagles this year, flight #9784; usually a 752 but sometimes a 763 for longer flights
