10 A320s For Spring Air (may Be Up To 20)

According to news media from China, low-cost carrier Spring Airlines will take 10 A320, part of the bulk order for 150 A320s signed in October 2006.

The President of the airline/group told media that his airline will try to get placement for as many as 20 A320s for its expansion.

Just curious: thought Spring Airlines is one of the "private" carriers in China, and thus responsible for their own orders. Why are they now allowed to participate on CASC´s bulk order(s)?

Well, perhaps CASC has met some resistance from the larger Chinese airlines with respect to taking all of the A320 orders for which its has contracted. I think it's pretty clear that the orders from China for both Airbus and Boeing airliners aren't just motivated by commercial concerns, and it may be a bit of a challenge to place 450 new narrowbody airliners all ordered within the past 18 months.
