Hey all,

I thought it was time to finally join a.net. I have a question about MAT's order for the CRJ-900.

Have they cancelled the two remaining aircraft they have on order? Or will they take delivery of them in 2007.

Cheers,

CRJ900X

I have a feeling that the remaining aircraft oreder will be cancelled or maybe given to JU - MAT is in trouble - the CRJ900 is costing them dearly apparently.

As in lease costs or operating costs?

Lease costs I believe but stand to be corrected.

Didn't they lease it directly from the manufacturer? Kinda short-sighted to charge so much for one plane so that the customer can't afford to buy any more...? No wonder their sales are down, if that is the case.

I am sure Bombardier offered an attractive deal, as they wanted to get a foothold into the regional market there and keep the Embraer 170 which was already ordered out.
But MAT is financially not doing well, they had problems earlier paying the bills for the 737s. If they can't fill the planes and control other costs, even the attractive lease rates can be too much already.

nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

Unfortunately true, JAT repossesed their 733's due to tens of millions in unpaid lease and maintenance bills. Sad

JAT is apparently leasing 2 CRJ-700, maybe the CR9's from the MAT order will be substituted instead?

On a side note, is Croatia Airlines still evaluating Regional Jet models to introduce into the fleet to replace/operate alongside the ATR-42's?

Thanks,

Does the aircraft have 10F + 65Y? Will they earn more money if they throw out the F-seats and re-equip the aircraft with 90Y, like Air Nostrum, Air One etc? Or are the F-seats selling well while the Y are not?
