I have had this happen twice to me over the years, I boarded a U.S. flight out of Mem and it was an Aloha Dc-9,, I asked about it and they said they were leaseing it from them at the time...

Then a good while back i flew Eastern to Atlanta, and got an orange Braniff, also on lease.. (Its been a while) anyone ever have this happen...

i can see for 80 miles

Yes, once.
I was flying Midway(JI) from RDU to PHL and we were put on a Carnival 727.
They handed out notes saying that due to the A-320s not getting certification as quickly as planned, they were having to lease aircraft for different flights.
They also gave out flight credits for any inconvenience.

You are now free to be sexually harassed and then terminated for filing a complaint--Southwest Airlines to me.

Aerolineas Argentinas to Miami on a leased Varig 742 ( with AR livery) ( ugly RG seat covers with flowers).This was in Feb 1992.
Aerolineas Argentinas Mar del Plata-Buenos Aires on a IBERIA 727-200 ( full IB colors and interior).This was in 1992 or 93.
Lan Chile Santiago-Mexico DF on a AeroMexico 767 (Espiritu del 88 special livery), I didn't know they used to codeshare, so this was a nice surprise. Nov 1998.

How long ago do you mean? Before deregulation, EA and BN had an interchange ATL-MEM-DEN flight, where EA operated the ATL-MEM sectors (and BN the MEM-DEN), but half the flights were on BN aircraft.

Thanks for posting the pictures of the Aer Lingus jets,AeroWesty, flew one of those between LAX and OAK in 1981. Also did Alaska in UA colors a 727 and a Martinair 747 which was in Qantas colors from SFO to AMS.

I remember a long time ago going through the check-in gate in Aruba (before they had jetways) for my AIR ARUBA flight back to EWR. When I got on the tarmac, I could't find our plane! I walked all the way back to the gate to be told to get on a KIWI bird they had leased. I guess they were both on the endangered list, because they are both extinct today!

Few of Eastern Airlines flights were operated by Continental Airlines DC-9 and crew. That was back in 1990.

Please look at the second photo for Era's current livery. The a/c in the first photo appears to have a CO livery, except for the tail with the Era logo.

And do we count inter-change flights? Remember the AS/AA interchange flights fifteen years ago or so. I've been on an AA 727 with an AS flight number, AS crew.

I flew on an Eastern Provincial 737-200 leased by Wien Air Alaska on the Fairbanks-Whitehorse route (the airplane continued to Juneau I think), this was back in 1976 I believe.

When Eastern Airlines was relaunched in the late 1980s, some of their flights were operated by CO aircraft.....I flew on an Eastern Airlines flight operated by a CO MD80 from ATL to PBI.

And I have been on a HV B733 long way back on an easyJet flight.

I ended up on SAS when I booked on Blue1 (perhaps a bit different as it's a group).

Used to get British Midland a lot when booked on LOT, and vice versa, when living in Warsaw (WAW-LHR-WAW).

Got AY when booked on BA HEL-LHR. All oneworld though...

Ended up on LOT when booked on CentralWings, but this later turned out to be a dry lease, not yet with the livery.
