Dear A.netters:

I will be flying on WN on 01/01/07 from MCO to MHT for a little skiing. My flight leaves at 6:50ish in the morning and I was wondering whether I will be on a 737-700 or the 300? Also, since I will be moving to Roanoke in the near future, what is the possiblity of a low cost carrier like Southwest offering service there. I know allegiant already does, but I am looking for more daily scheduling. Thanks.

Based on quick look on Flytecomm and FlightAware, all of the flights on that route are listed as being operated by the 737-700.

As for ROA, it may be too small of a market for one of the mainstream LCCs like WN, FL, NK, or B6. I know WN requires a minimum number of daily flights to consider a new city and if the demand for that minimum number is not there, then they won't start service there.

I flew the route back in October and the aircraft didn't have winglets. Weather it was a 700 or 300 I'm not sure, but I was sad.  Sad

I'm not sure what the status was last year, but at this point, all -700s have winglets (except for those ex-Ford aircraft that they didn't even have last year). Your flight was most likely a -300.

Looking at the Internal SWA Non-Rev Listing page it says you should be on the (73G) which in this case would be a -700.

October 9th. We got in to MCO fairly late, I don't know the exact time. around 3pm iirc.

Let me tell you... buying a ticket on Southwest out of MHT beats the hell out of trying to non-rev out of PWM on US Airways. Stress galore.  Sad

Southwest does very well here at MHT, and the run to/from Orlando is quite successful. There are four daily circuits already, with a fifth coming in March. My daughter and I will be flying down to Disneyworld on January 16th (a Tuesday). We're taking the first nonstop of the day...the one leaving at 7am. Even the cheapest $59 tickets are still available for all flights MHT-->MCO on that day. We're coming back on Saturday the 20th, on the last nonstop northbound (leaving at 4:30pm). Those flights--being a Saturday--are filling up.

I hope that wherever you're going skiing has done a good job of snow-making; next to nothing has fallen at all this season, and ski resort owners are understandably fretting this undoubted onset of 'global warming.' The preceding was paid for by the 'Al Gore for president' committee. That would be the same Al Gore who invented the Internet, giving us airliners.net  Wink

Flight 2560 to MHT for 1/1/07 is N770 departing out of Gate 104. It's early in the day though, so don't be surprised if that changes. Dispatch may still want to swap things around for MX lines or MCO Ops may request a swap based on gates/RON parking.

FYI...N200 will also be there tomorrow morning parked at Gate 126, 0730 to RDU.
