Hi!

yes, I have used this terminal, and it is fantastic. The check-in area looks like a hotel with porters (bell-boys) and hotel-like check-in for business and first class. The lounges are mostly empty and the duty-free is small, but well-stocked.

There is an entertainment center for playstation, DVD'S, home cenimas, ect.. and a Spa facility. Also, they have buffett meals throughout the day depending on the time. Its a whole world away from the current economy airport.

 Smile

Happy New Year everyone!

The business class lounge and the first class lounge are both located in the new Premium terminal. I used the business class lounge twice in December while in transit.

As mentioned by Qatar340, the terminal is exclusive and passengers are greeted by QR personnel directly after entering the terminal. After a quick security check, one passes through the duty free shopping and goes up an escalator (with a waterfall surrounding) up to the lounge level.

At peak hours (23.00 - 02.00h) the business lounge was very full, and it was difficult to find a seat, but it could also have been a result of the Asian Games taking place. The business lounge has a restaurant style dining area, and the QR personnel come around to take orders for drinks(!) and announce the boarding of flights. The spa is only available to first class passengers, but the bathrooms in the business lounge are large and have large showers.

All in all, QR inflight service and ground service are remarkable!

Up until 2005 i used to fly very frequently with QR,infact i still have a silver privelege club membership then i had to switch to EY for convenience. But i must say i miss flying QR and even though EY's new flat beds in J class are unparalled, nothing beats QR's service. But now after hearing reviews of the new premium terminal i would probably try and go out of my way to transit through DOH.All the best to QATAR!

I flew through the airport a few days ago and got to sample the new terminal. I echo the sentiments as to how wonderful it all is.

I have a question about the “Premium Class Terminal” that has been bothering me, even though some people might think it stupid, but apart from visiting Doha I cannot find the answer unless I ask someone, so here goes...

If an airline uses a terminal that is exclusive for first or business class passengers, how do first/business class passengers board the aircraft, as presumably the aircraft is probably parked at a departure gate or an air bridge at the main terminal? Do they generally use buses to take first/business class passengers to the aircraft, or are some aircraft parked by the Premium Class Terminal and therefore coach class passengers are bused from the main terminal to the aircraft?

I don't know about Doha, but in FRA they take you to and from the lounge in a Porsche Cayenne or a luxurious Mercedes...
Some very interesting trip reports on that in the trip reports section...

Doha has no airbridges. All aircraft are parked remote.

First and Business Class pax are transported in seperate luxury vehicles (cars and/or buses) between the terminal and the aircraft.
