So this is the first of five E190s -listed @US$35 million a piece- that P5 will get this year directly from São José dos Campos, in addition to the three they'll be leasing from GE Commercial Aviation Services. Cool! As for its maiden scheduled flight, what are the chances of it being MDE-ADZ?

Very slim, as the plane is in BOG, and i think it already flew the first time. It arrived 10 days ago.

I want to try those Embraers but i think i will end up flying Satena, too much bad experiences with P5.

It did, huh? Happen to know where to? What do they have it doing right now?

I hear ya. Had the chance of doing just that myself for what should've been a quick hop out of PTY on CM recently (turns out some nasty fog forced us to overnight in MGA, then on to SAP early the next morning and from there back to SJO, but that's a whole 'nother story) and so after spending some five hours in all onboard this bird, I can tell you first-hand that while it does indeed look very sleek and modern both inside and out, it is quite less comfortable than, say a 73G or 738.

I flew CUN-PTY on CMs E190 last year and i can tell you it was a hell of a great plane, compared to CMs 737s. Way more comfortable and roomy and in approach, way more fun (of course this depends on the pilot).

I've flown with Satena's E145 a few times from BOG to EOH and back. They´re just perfect fot short hops such like this one, I don't know about longer routes, it seems a bit small for a 2hr flight (in fact, I´m not sure they have the legs to do this, if someone knows pls enlight me).

For those who have been in Bogota last few weeks might have seen P5s new ads in the street. Their E190 in CMish livery with just only one word, IIRC correctly: Transformandonos!!

I came from MIA in Av last nite, and I saw it parked by the national gates, in a remote stand with a tug underneath it. It seems it was cold and dark.

By the way, welcome to the freaky world of a.net. Be patience, and you´ll enjoy this.

I mean the E170s. I would like to try the E145 but the real deal is the E-jet. I have already been in a bunch of CRJs....

with the new aircrafts, what are the chances to see Aerorepublica finally more internationally? Specially CCS came in my mind...

Totally agree with you. Nice airplane [very modern] but less comfortable than the 737s and no IFE.

I have to disagree with you guys. I found the E190 WAY more comfortable than the 737 (at least in CM config). Of course, they lack IFE, but I bet if they had PTVs like AirCanada does, they might be a blast.

May I ask you why?

Good for AeroRepublica. This should help them improve their route network and hopefully the customers will like it. My only Embraer experience was last September on a CO EMB145ER from YYZ to IAH and it was excellent, very clean and comfortable airplane.

Copa Holdings (the parent company of both CM and P5), in a filing with the SEC just over six months ago, stated that "...although to date we have not had any significant problems with [the E190], certain other airlines have in the past experienced problems generally associated with it, including difficulties with the software that operates the Embraer avionics system."

Don't get me wrong now, the E190 is in my opinion extremely well suited for both intra-region traffic (within Central America, that is) and domestic flights within Colombia (as is the case in point), considering the short distances between most markets, and their relatively limited size.

It just seems less comfy than a 73G/738, that's all I'm saying.
