I thought I heard that the NW/CO/AA/UA China route authority decision would be coming in December. For a flight starting in April, it seems we are getting a little close to the commencement date.
What do you think the announcement date delay means? Are the contending airlines doing a lot of last minute convincing? Did AA's recent change to their application cause the delay? Is the DOT having a difficult time deciding?

The AA debacle probably slowed things down a week. Throw in the long weekend and Gerald Ford's death (another workday gone), and an announcement on Friday is probably optimistic. I would expect the decision no later than sometime next week.
