AQ Finally Dethrones HA As US' Ontime Leader

Pretty amazing considering AQ's fleet of 732s. I wonder how long it's going to take for someone to point out AQ and HA's predominantly interisland route structure! I'd be willing to bet the farm that UA and F9 won't be in the running ontime leader in December...which will have nothing to do with two massive blizzards, of course!

Either way, congrats to AQ.

This doesn't surprise me at all, and I was expecting it because of the 767 delivery delays. I expect we'll see similar numbers for December and January.

Anyone know what the deal with AQ's wet leased 732 (from Pace)? It's been here forever (with the Pace paint scheme) but originally was supposed to be a summertime addition.

Any news on AQ's interest in the E-190? That seemed to fizzle out...

Not enough airplanes to go around. There has been several threads in here discussing late arrivals/departures of HA flights because a 763 was still on a mission elsewhere. . . .

I see; that makes sense although I would imagine that HA's mainland/int'l service makes up only a small percentage of their overall ops.

Were there problems with their interisland flights in November? I don't recall the weather being too bad, and it obviously didn't hurt AQ.

There was only 2.3% difference and both were 90+ %, so there could not have been too many problems for either.

As for Hawaiian, I took a red-eye out of HNL to LAX on Nov. 28 and it went smooth, left on time, arrived on time. Both are outstanding carriers....
