Happy New Year to all - here's your gift, courtesy of WN, and matched by just about everyone else. Does anyone have any info on what a gallon of jet fuel costs these days? Oil prices seem to have stabilized some...

Doesn't matter what the cost is. What matters is that WN's cost of fuel is projected to go up in 2007. Even with substantial hedges in place, WN will pay more for fuel this year than last. As such, cost to move a customer will go up, and so the fares must increase. WN customers can accept it, or reject it and purchase elsewhere.

Quoting EWRCabincrew (Reply 2): Seems like when the fare hike wagon rolls around, one or more jump on.
Thanks for acknowledging it - I didn't notice until I saw the little cake icon. No doubt, everyone jumps on - what many neglect to note is that WN isn't immune to fuel woes (particularly since one of its hedge contracts expired) and has been known to initiate them across the industry - this example was no exception.
