Expected A345 Or 777LR Orders In 2007?

Just as the title suggests, are there any expected (or hopeful) orders for these two airframes this year? I can see there has been a flurry of "prediction" threads...I wanted this to be specific to these two very longhaul a/c.

Expected eventual routes?

Delta was the last to purchase the 777LR, no?
And who was the latest to purchase the A345?

Kingfisher bought 5 in Nov 06

The only orders that I could see are from QF but I think that both of the planes don't quite meet their requirements.

Everytime I see a thread about expected such and such orders this year or next year I roll up my eyes and ignore the thread. I am sorry to say that this is a pointless discussion open to all kinds of speculations.

Here is my two cents worth: take all airlines that operate widebodies and all are potential customers. There... I said it.

Other similar threads: expected Airbus orders in 2007; expected Boeing orders in 2007; expected 737 orders in 2007; expected A320 orders in 2007...

I'm sorry for ranting and picking on it in your thread but I've been wanting to vent for a while now. Your's just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Cheers,

That's right, thanks for the reminder.

I don't think QF will be happy unless they are presented with either a 781SP or an A350SP...which, if possible, won't happen for years.

Glad to be of service. I'm not offended; I am too often tired with certain "types" of threads. My doctorly advice to you (I give myself as well): just don't read them.

Now, anyone else, or can we get back on topic?

On another thread, there was talk of TK might be interested in some interim 345/773 decision till they make a final 343 replacement/growth order for 350/787.
The decision is due mid 2007 for up to 20 frames.
My opinion was to lease some 343/330s for commonality till the later decision, like Tap/Swiss.
But who knows, 345s for TK?

If DL exits bankruptcy this calendar year (which is the plan), they could order additional 772LR's, don't you think?

As for the A345, is there any chance EY could order one or more additional A345's?

Wouldn't TK be better off ordering A346's or A343E's? The -600 is in the same seating capacity class as the 773ER and the A343E would be a very logical addition given the fact that they are an A343 operator. I don't think they need the range of the -500, or do they?

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

In terms of range, IST-LAX is the only one comes to mind, for the future.
I still think 346/773 type, still too big for TK. That is why I would like to see more 332s, 343s till 787/350 come into picture.

I don't expect any orders for either plane ever again. Seriously, I think the prospects for both are slim. SA might be a candidate, but that would be it...
