I have just seen a BA 747 (diverted - probably medical) take off from GLA. It turned to go transatlantic and I was wondering where its heading for? Is there a BA 747 an hour or two late tonight at your local airport (US/Canada/S America)? It could be that one. It was in the old colours. Any ideas?

It is difficult to tell because there are most likely to be more than one 747 flight in a BA old colours heading to the Americas. I live in Orlando, Florida and BA 747 sometimes in old colours come to Orlando everyday.

If it was going down south I could look at the teletext arrivals page for LHR or LGW and it would say eg 'BA... JFK, GLA' but because its going outbound I can't. There is probably an arrivals page somewhere in the US or Canada that says 'BA... ---, GLA' but it could be any one of dozens of airports and I'm not that desperate to know!

In the (very) unlikely event of anyone being kept awake tonight wondering about this, I have discovered it was BA185 LHR-EWR, G-BDXL.

If heading for South America, would not divert to GLA but LIS for Atlantic problems.
