WOW, AA is having a ball with the 777 and ORD! first American eagle goes all jets, and then AA goes all 777's ORD-LHR and adds a second one to DFW-MIA, this could get interesting...
cheers,

hey blink182;
how many AA 777s are there daily at DFW now??? i remember seeing about 5 when i spent a day at DFW last summer....anyway...we'll have to meet up next summer when i come back down there....probably sometime in june right after school gets out... i can't wait...and my dad's cousin, who i'll stay with, currently flies the remaining DC-10s in AA's fleet, and flies them on the KDFW-PHNL route....he's moving up to the MD-11 soon after the -10's are retired...maybe i'll be able to take a side trip to frankfurt or sao paulo...

You are right, AA is really enjoying the 777 in ORD (and it's other hubs as well). I think you can bet that the 777 will be AA's preferred aircraft for years and years to come.
As for the comment on getting some newer jets in the Caribbean and Miami area. Don't worry a bit my friend, you are next in line! AA will be retiring a massive number of 727s next year, which will be replaced by the 737... that aircraft will begin a lot of flights into the caribbean area. AA is already replacing several 727s with the 737 on MIA-carribbean routes. Don't worry, it will happen here before too long

Who cares about the 727's to the Caribbean. That is the aircraft that I associate the Caribbean with. Such a shame that Boeing can't make them more efficient.

As much as I like Aviation(which is more than anyone can imagine) I am not a huge fan of going to the airport just to go spotting, I usually spot from the terminals when I am there for a flight I am taking, yeah I always get to the airport 1hr+ before my flight but an airport like DFW which is extremely far out, there is no point in that, So I am not that big on spotting believe it or not, I only spot from the terminals when I am at the airport for something else.

well,
next summer i will be traveling back down to DFW again, for how long remains unknown as of now..maybe a week, it depends on how long my hosts are willing to keep me and my friend.... anyway, i'll get to the point now. i was hoping i could get some response from the plane spotters in the DFW area, who would enjoy a day out at DFW. we could all gather at one spot, with people bringing cars, and them move to various points around the airport as the day goes on. my favorite spot (besides the ramp tower) was on the west side of the airport near the American Eagle hangar, and in the afternoon/evening. so, anyone who would like to join me respond as you please. i'm looking at the beginning-middle of june, but exact dates are one thing i don't have...this isn't a big deal yet, i was just giving everybody enough time to read this and respond before that time came upon us...i know i will be out there, and anyone is more than welcome to join me.

while flying out of DFW today enroute to Miami I counted 3 triple 7's at 6 am.Usually around 9:30am there are about 4 or 5 between gates A22-A27 at DFW.There has been 2 triple 7 flights going between DFW and MIA for over a month now.And yes my god I can not wait for those ugly 727's to be history.Getting rid of those a/c's will cause the average age of Americans fleet to go from an average of 9 years to at least 7.The 738 is still a no show at DFW but Mia has seen a steady increase of the a/c.Now flying from MIA to Denver,Chicago,Orlando,Tampa,D.C,LGA (LAGUARDIA),Managua,San Juan,Guetemala City and Panama City.
