What Happened To NW's DC-10 Engineers?

With all the talk lately on a.net, and a great article in Airways, about the retirement of NW's DC-10s it got me thinking about their crews. What happens to the flight engineers who no longer have a flight to engineer?

Mostof the DC10 Flight Engineers at NWA are pilots on the pilot seniority list,if they are under 60 they can go to where their seniority can carry them.

Are they really being retired. I read that they will still be used for Military charters.

ALL of the DC-10 engineers are pilots on the NW list.

The DC10 engineers, (F/E or S/O) will either retire, (because they are over 60) or will transition to another aircraft in the NWA fleet. The DC10 engineers are small in number....

"Flaps 20, gear down, landing checklist please..."
