Quoting Smokeyrosco (Reply 1): the 3 man flight crew are heros in my book
The very fact that they successfully landed that plane w/the injuries they had sustained (and, mind you, landed it ON the runway, SAFELY) is nothing short of miraculous.
Both writeups, documentaries, and transcripts of the event are utterly chilling.
The hijacker's intentions were to use the plane as a bomb to destroy Fedex's MEM facility, a move that likely would have killed hundreds, if not thousands, of FX employees, and probably the company itself, as well.

That's the one, the chilling part is when the flight crew boarded the plane the hijacker (who they knew was about to get fired) was actually on the flight deck initiating pre-flight procedures.
I know I wasn't there, but I would be inclined to tell him to sod off. However, that said I don't know all the facts.

If you're in the UK I'd highly recommend the episode of "Air Crash Investigation" about this incident. It's regularly repeated on National Geographic on Sky / Cable if you've got it. It's already been aired this month but if you go to http://www.nationalgeographic.co.uk/...ogram_details.aspx?id_program=7918 you can set an email reminder before it's shown again.
