Greetings all!
With so much 757 flying shifting to EWR for international expansion, roughly how many daily flights out of IAH are still operated by a 757?
In addition, I'm also curious if ALL 757-200s are flying international, or if there are a certain number that mainly fly domestic but are able to shift to international? If I'm not mistaken, all -200's have BF installed, but are there any that are only flying domestic? How much more int'l expansion room is left with the remaining aircraft? Any?

For what it's worth, I flew in December 2005 from EWR to IAH, and it was a wingletted 757-200. The plane arrived at EWR from LIS, but I am not sure if it had BusinessFirst seats up front.

I flew CO to IAH-JFK on Jan 2, according to a gate agent some are still used to MCO(Orlando), LAX and one other location which I forgot.

I flew on a -200 to SJU in August that was inbound from MAN.
I know that SJU is a -200 destination and I believe FLL is as well to add to the list. Not sure if MIA is a regular -200 destination but at the gate next to me was a -200 leaving for MIA.

CMB,
Yes, all 41 757-224/Ws are able to, and do, fly internationally, or as you're probably asking, trans-Atlantic.
I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'd reckon about 10-15 flights a day are done with B757-224s. LIM, LAX, EWR, MCO, PHX come to mind. UIO went to a 737 recently.

From what I've heard, all 752's are wingletted and have the BF configuration. Checking SA)">CO's downloadable timetable for the week of 1/25, SA)">CO has about 16 752 IAH departures at:
MSY 0705 (some days), SAT 0845, PHX 0905, EGE 1010 (or 1135),FLL 1034, PHX 1135, EWR 1320, FLL 1325, AUS 1440 (some days), LIM 1555, SAN 1800, SFO 1800, LAX 1915, TPA 1920, LAX 2105, SAT 2215.
I may have missed one or two and there are a couple of SA ops and odd IHA-EWR positioning flights.

I don't think all the 752s have gone international quite yet, thought I'm sure once more of the 739ERs arrive to fill in for them, we'll see them all on transatlantic and latin/south american routes. The 753 will carry the high density domestic routes.

Thanks, that's just what I wanted to know. I didn't realize there were that few 757 flights out of IAH. Too bad. I remember just a few years ago constantly seeing 757's in and out. It's not a rarity these days, but not as many as I would like to see.

All 41 752s are configured for Transatlantic service. If each and every one of them has done so I haven't a clue ... As far as I know they all flow though the route system without restriction. Hmmmm.... perhaps I should track one or two of them for a month and see....

Hmmm, perhaps you should. I'm quite interested in what's actually going on with these 757s.
Maybe it can replace the Peter Max threads for a few weeks. LOL

Nothing can replace the peter max threads... nothing.
For what it's worth, Continental was running a daily nonstop 752 IAH-ANC this holiday season. I flew on it both ways! Didn't get upgraded, tho. Didn't expect to- it was my first time flying as a silver.
I like the 752 generally, but wish CO's had updated video screens (bigger, please) and the seats from the 753, which are FAR more comfortable than the rest of the CO narrowbody fleet seats.

You've got to distinguish between the 752 and the 753. In February, CO is going to be operating 30 757's a day...evenly split between both aircraft. By summer those numbers should be even higher...

I think this exercise has demonstrated the point that the the 752's flow though the routing system domestic, TransAtl, So. Am... etc..
