Basically, they are getting seats like CO has currently, but narrower by at least 1.25 inches, and up to 2.25 inches. The CO 787 will bring a new product in 2009, though some have speculated it might be in two months with the new 777s (I have my doubts there, as they would have announced it already).
UA is also putting a new product this year, current NW and US seats are better than the new AA product, and we won't know what they have cooking until the whole merger situation is sorted out.
DL is getting new real flat seats, BA is getting their second generation of real flat seats, and VS has real flat seats.
And this also ignores the competing international carriers that double on some of AA's routes, like NZ to LHR from LAX, JFK to LHR on a couple carriers, ORD to FRA and CDG, etc.
Of all the things to worry about... the Wookie has no pants.
