Some more trivia;
the customer code of Austrian Airlines is B8, so this will be a 777-2B8ER. The earlier 777s were 2Z9ERs. The interesting thing is that this code was allocated in the late 1960s already (compare to MEA (B4), KAL (B5), RAM (B6) which bought their first new Boeings around 1968). Probably Austrian was close to buy 737s or 727s at that time. Since then, the code B8 was always a mystery number in Boeing customer lists. Finally this is the first Boeing ever delivered to Austrian.

So where will they fly this aircraft ?

I know they will discontinue SYD and KUL but not until the end of March. What routes will get the 777 until then in addition to the ones that see it now ?

It would be nice to see it at IAD.... Smile

maybe I´ll be flying with Thai or Ana what would you recommend me ?

I can just fly with Star Alliance Partners except SQ...

Hi!

SIN,KUL,MEL & SYD will all be discontinued from 24.3.07.

New destinations for their 777s are:
NRT, BKK and either JFK or IAD (I don't remember the one exactly).
IIRC also KTM will see some 777 flights.

BKK will see it as well as IAD. JFK will see it seasonally as there will be twice daily flights with 767.

KTM will be dicontinued as well!

Yep, it seems that some Moron outside OS forgot that Cargo should be included into Earnings as well. At the End Austrians Flights to OZ WERE profitabel.

Now OS has two Problems.

1. No available Aircrafts after getting rid of the A332/A342/A343
2. to reinstall Flights to OZ without loosing their Face

Largest in size, or the engine with the highest thrust rating?
When it comes to size: the GE-90 is the biggest, while the Trent 800 is the smallest.
The 772LR uses the GE-90-110B/115B1, while the 772ER uses the GE-90-85B/92B/94B, P&W 4084/4090 or RR Trent 884/892/895 engines.
The GE-90-94B has the highest thrust out of the engines available for the 772ER (if you exclude the P&W 4098.)
