Do you guys remember the movie "Die Hard II" where the hero (Bruce Willis) was fighting the bad guys at an airport? In the movie, he found a map of underground tunnels from the Maintenance/Security guy and he was able to get out to the runway and pop open a steel grate in the center of the active runway.
My question is, do airports really have underground access tunnels like that, leading to all the runways? Or is that another case of Hollywood Fiction?
I loved the movie - obviously the part where he had a fist-fight with the bad guy on the wing of a 747 while on a takeoff roll or taxi in the snow at night was great Hollywood Fiction!!!!

Heathrow has a cargo tunnel which takes you from the the Central Terminal area to the the Cargo Centre by Terminal 4 this is only for LHR workers. The only access to the Central Terminals 1,2 and 3 is through a two lane either way tunnel which goes under 9L/27R. Which can get jammed early mornings.
