Interesting perspective, capturing a video from inside a plane, a BAE Hawk, that crashed due to a bird.

Ummmm... that has nothing to do with the topic at hand; the Hawk is not a prop.  Wink (it's a jet trainer)

I remember this vid vaugly very scary espically with the pilots heavy breathing.

The pilot survives but his multi million pound aircraft didn't!

I always make myself guess what video it's going to be when I see "video" in a thread title. That way I'm pleasantly surprised when it's a new one.

WOW that was an amazing video! I've only seen views of a crash like that on Flight Sim!!

No one was hurt and that's the name of the game, a new plane can be bought, people can't.

By the way, I know sometimes people post videos that have been seen a lot previously and sometimes people get a little too hot on them. For others such as myself, that's the first time I've seen the video and I'm very glad it was posted so thank you Skibum9.
After all, what is the suggest deletion button for?

I'm confused... I only saw one bird, but aren't there two engines? Couldn't they recover with just one engine? What is the situation here?

The Hawk only has one engine.

One engine (Rolls Royce Adour, I belive). Two intakes.

The pilot kept his cool well: Gaining altitude while he could, try the relight, looking for a safe place to eject and leave the plane, all in a few seconds. I guess that's why he's flying jets.

At about 56 seconds you can see the shadow of the ejecting pilot on the ground in front of the plane; about 5 seconds before crashing!!!!
