Hey star, thats the config as the low J is currently. When it receives the new CW cabin J will go to 52 seats.

I believe so! And understand that the conversions are being done quicker than anticipated.

Afraid NOT Sad

However the aim is that JFK will give a new cabin guarantee by April, which is when the marketing campaign for new CW will begin.

The new CW seems to be appearing most on LAX, HKG and JFK at the moment.

The current aircraft has actually done more trips to IAD and GRU rather than JFK.

Thanks for sharing BAStew, good to see the conversions are going well. So far, the conversions are indeed taking slightly shorter than anticipated, although this won't always be the case.

Quoting VV701 (Reply 4):

Yes, all interior conversions for the 744 and 777 fleet are done at BAMC(British Airways maintenance Cardiff).

I hope the new Club World will be on my flights in March & May. I can't take the old Club World much longer (specifically my back)!  headache

Has anyone been on the LAX-LHR/LHR-LAX or LHR-DXB/DXB-LHR routes yet with the new Club World seating?

So what's the capacity in First, Club, Traveller Plus and Traveller in both Hi and Mid J aircraft?

BA's 'Hi J' 744s are configured for 291 passengers (F14 / J70 / W30 /Y177). Currently the 'Lo J' 744s excepting, I believe, the four 'Lite' aircraft, are configured for 360 passengers (F14 / J38 / W36 / Y272). (The four 'Lite' aircraft that have a crew rest area over the rear main cabin have, I believe, an additional eight 'Y' class seats.) But these 'Lo J' aircraft will start to become 'Mid J' aircraft with F14 / J52 / W? /Y? seats when 'NLU rejoins the fleet after conversion. The increase in Club World seats / beds from 38 to 52 will increase the total number of BA Club World seats / beds in service by 8 per cent.

Who knows the configuration of the World Traveller Plus and World Traveller cabins in the reconfigured 'Mid J' aircraft?

Not 100% certain, but I believe a figure of 36 was mentioned for the WTP cabin. A definite number hasn't been given for the WT cabin, but based on the fact that in the Hi 'J' aircraft the WTP cabin holds 30 seats, that section might hold another 10-20 WT seats so the WT seating might be in the region of 220 to give an aircraft config of possibly 14F/52J/36W/220M. This is based largely on my determination of the how the WTP and WT cabins will look.

The ones with 185 Y seats are the 744 'Lites'. The 4 lites are all Hi-J configured. And have a much more comfy crew rest area!

So in the reconfigured aircraft is the Hi-J layout still 14F 70J 30W 177M?

What are the registrations of the four 'lite' aircraft?

Anyone say what the actual number of seats in each Mid-J aircraft will be? And is WT+ still planned to be put ahead of J on the main deck in these aircraft?

Will the same mix of Hi-J and Mid-J exist as today, i.e. will all the Hi-J aircraft remain Hi-J? Will all the Low-J aircraft become Mid-J aircraft?

Does this mean the 777's will be started sooner than May next year?

Also, are the "soft" upgrades - blankets, pillows, Club Kitchen - being added in advance of each a/c being fully updated?

Its NLN. So Avod for you!

However just operated the 268 back today and we were expecting NLK but it didnt get back from Cardiff in time so went to GRU instead. Some of Club pax who'd checked in online got surprisingly stroppy given its not advertised yet.

So no sulking if its not!

Some of their 767s fly long haul, but they also have some that fly routes within europe as well - which are equipped with a domestic first class rather than a club world business class.

BA does not have such a thing as domestic first class. Our 767s are either in longhaul config with Club World, WTP and WT or they are configured for shorthaul operation. The 2 operate as seperate fleets unless there is a late substitute required and the proper type of aircraft isn't available.

25 Vasu : Where do the "lites" fly?
26 Fbgdavidson : Blankets and pillows - Yes Club Kitchen - No Eh? How does that work? Online Check-In gives nothing away in terms of old or new seats. On my LHR-IAD f
27 BALAX : So NLN has the new club class already. How long does it take to convert these aircraft?
28 Hotelmode : No idea but they knew. LHR said it was now shown online. NLN was the first one finished in Nov, its been shaking everything down to make sure it work
29 BALAX : So what is this schedule here? NLN shows as January 20, but for reconfiguraton?
30 TCXDegsy : I don't think this is correct. I flew LHR-SFO 14th Dec and returned 2nd Jan, and had 'old CW, but the Club Kitchen was fitted and used
31 Post contains images BAStew : Mainly JFK. But you also see them sometimes on SIN, HKG, GRU, BOM....anywhere the Hi J's fly to. Prob just a printing error in the publication BALAX.
32 Highpeaklad : How many 767s are there left without AVOD, and when will they be completed? Chris
33 Post contains links Fbgdavidson : Well that makes sense at to why my IAD-LHR flight with the old seats had a menu insert about Club Kitchen...I thought since it was hardware it was on

37 TCXDegsy : are there any suggested timescales for the conversion of 777's to start?
38 GBOAC : Just pull up a seat map from a future flight typically operated by a 38J and you can see the W config. I've posted it before here - W is moving to 42
39 Wrighbrothers : BA Haven't updated their seat maps on their website. But basically: BA's 767 used to have a small first class cabin, however, all those that did, hav
40 TCXDegsy : Cheers! I'm flying LHR-EWR on 30th Nov.. hopefully it'll be a converted 777
