Airbus has today delivered A320 manufacturing serial number 3000 (MSN3000) to Asia’s largest low cost carrier, AirAsia. The official handover to Dato’ Tony Fernandes, Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia by Louis Gallois, Airbus President and CEO, and co-CEO of EADS, took place at a ceremony held at Airbus’ new Henri Ziegler delivery centre in Toulouse, France. The ceremony was attended by Dominique Perben, French Minister of Transport, along with Dato’ Seri Chan Kong Choy, Minister of Transport Malaysia.

Some good news for Airbus here. It seems we have only been getting bad news from Toulouse for a long time, so congrats to Airbus on a big success!

Here's a picture of MSN3000, aka an AK A320-216. The aircraft is due to be registered as 9M-AFP.

is this the 3000th A320, or the 3000th A320-family aircraft?

3000th A320 family aircraft I'd say, since all A32x are technically part of the same production line.

That's the 3000th of the A320-family aircraft delivered.

Congrats to Airbus!

A320/A319/A318 or A321... yea, whatever. Airbus is crying all the way to the bank.  Wink

Its a great family of aircraft. I do hope its updated soon or that Airbus takes the bold step to do the A320NG (hopefully CFRP). But hey, I'm in aerospace R&D, so I wouldn't be biased at all wanting more money thrown into a new project. Nope... not at all.  no
