ok that could be right. I don't know exactly the regulations for brothers and sisters, because my sister isn't able to fly. She has got married and therefore another surname.
But what about the 8 vouchers your brother has? If he accompanies you, you know he could take 8 times anybody with him on a travel. If I'am not wrong, I heard that these tickets are allowed for all airlines.

If you're eligible for ID travel with your own airline, then you are eligible with SQ.

as I worked for Fraport last year, we did the ground handling of Emirates at FRA. I was at the check-in and I saw a lot of people flying with EK with LH ID tickets. And this applies also for their relatives. I could say that on every 2-3 flight from FRA to DXB ID pax were onboard with onward flights to MEL/SYD/PER/AKL/CHC.
A tip for you! Most times it is cheaper to buy your ID ticket in Business class as in Eco. The difference is so low that it is more profitable to fly in C class. The fact is, that we pay a lot of taxes for eco id tickets, but in c class these taxes are very very low. in first class we don't pay any taxes.
