Any Tristar L1011 Aircraft Operations In UK

Can anyone advise me if there is any regular Tristar L1011 flight operation to/from the UK, passenger or cargo & which airports they can be located?

I'm told the British RAF utilise them but I'm looking for other possible operators in the UK. I also assume the RAF are the only operators of the VC10 aircaft (anywhere) as well unless someone knows better.

I would appreciate any replies.

Regards,

Hi Runway25,

If I don't remember bad, White, Luzair and Euroatlantic Airways flies often L15 equipment from many airports (MAN, LHR, HUY,...) to Portuguese resorts. These flights are only charters, non-scheduled but try it in their websites.

Theres a Tristar at HUY pic in the database but it would have been a one-off flight or sub charter for another airline. None of those three airlines have ever done regular HUY flights

Hi Humberside,

the White, Luzair and Euroatlantic Airways are charter flights to FNC or FAO. These airlines do not operate regular flights to UK because they do not have scheduled flights.

The best place to catch a L1011 in the UK would have to be Brize Norton, also with VC10 and C17 traffic.

I would count weekly charter flights, such as ones SATA and Air Luxor have done between HUY and Faro in the past as regular flights. I know Euroatlantic have done regular charters to the UK in the past, not sure if they still do though

Thanks to all who replied to my enquiry with advice, info & links.

I hope to "catch" one of these a/c flying some day soon before they become potential history which may sound silly but may be not too far fetched in the case of the VC10.

Safe flying everyone.

Cheers,

The RAF still allow civilians to travel from BZZ to ASI and on to MPN on their L1011-500 flights geneally deprating every 10 days or so from BZZ.

Edina, thanks for the infomation.

Whilst the Falklands are not on my agenda I would imagine it would be one incedible trip. May be just worth a shot (for me personally) on another L1011 as my only Tristar flight was on a BKK - HKG Cathy Pacific operation about 15 years ago. That was so special to me!!!

Cheers,

Runway25

I've heard that at the moment these flights are being operated by Air Atlanta Icelandic 747s.

I'd love to get on a Tristar though - does anyone know roughly how much a flight from BZZ would be?

Ah the luxuary of seeing the VC-10s and L1011s fly by every day from home Big grin, unsurpassable  Smile

This week we've had an XLA 762, MON 763 and a white A310 in and one of my CCF friends is going down there to ASI in a month or two supposedly on a Hifly (Air Luxor) A330.
