Does anyone know of any reported incidents of aircraft ever being hit by fireworks? There are fireworks exploding all over the place and aircraft are coming in to land. I'd imagine the view must be quite good up there tonight but I don't really fancy being on an aircraft under seige from fireworks.

I've never heard of it happening. Even if it did, given the astronomical mass and speed differentials involved between fireworks and airliners, I can't imagine anything worse than a little firework soot residue accumulating on the 'planes surface. Never mind the fact that even the highest shooting fireworks shoot probably no more than a couple thousand feet into the air-which means it would only be an issue only along the flight paths in/out of the airport within a mile or two.
I don't think it's really a big issue.

Fireworks do not go as high as you think. I someimtes (in the summer) fly over Disneyland and watch them.

I am sure there are areas close to airports where you can't shoot fireworks for that reason.

At our annual "firefall" the airport closes for the duration of the show.
